Principal's Message

Welcome to the Clifton Elementary School Community!
My name is Wes Brown and I am the principal of Clifton Elementary School.  The 2021-2022 school year marks my first year with Clifton ISD.  I come to you as a seventeen-year veteran educator and  during those past seventeen years I have served as an elementary classroom teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, and campus principal.  I am married to my wife, Amy, who will also be serving as the counselor at Clifton Middle School.  We have been married for twenty-seven years and have four grown children; Brianna, Brandon, Benjamin, and Belinda.  Prior to becoming an educator I worked in the fields of social work and youth ministry.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from McMurry University in Sociology and Religion, a M. Ed. from Hardin Simmons University in Counseling and Human Development, and am in the dissertation phase of a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies  from Tarleton State University.
As you might tell, I love learning! I love everything about it. I believe that learning - the goal of any educational organization - is a complex, collaborative process of acquiring both knowledge and skill through study, observation, experience, and effective instruction.  The key word, I think, is collaborative.  Meaning that it is a process that is best done with one another.  As a community... of students, educators, and parents... we have the opportunity to learn together, and I'm looking forward to that opportunity.  When we come together in collaboration there is no limit to what we can learn or achieve.
As your elementary principal I will work with you to ensure that each student has a healthy and safe learning environment, is engaged in learning and connected to both the school and broader community, has access to personalized learning, and is supported by qualified and caring educators so that all students are prepared for success as life-long learners and are able to contribute back to their communities.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the community of Clifton and look forward to meeting and working with you all throughout this coming school year.  Let's be Great Together!
