Welcome to the Counseling Homepage! My name is Anna-Kate Oglesby, and I am Clifton Elementary's School Counselor. I am so excited to be working with you and your children this year!
What Services Does a School Counselor Provide?
Classroom Guidance: A curriculum of lessons designed to help students learn social/emotional and academic skills appropriate for their developmental level. These lessons are delivered by the school counselor using books, activities and games.
Individual Student Planning: Professional School Counselors are available to meet with students individually to help with short-term difficulties. Activities are used to plan and problem solve to help students meet goals and develop future plans.
Responsive Services: Activities are used to meet students' immediate needs and concerns. This may include individual, small-group, or crisis response counseling.
Indirect Services: These services include referrals to outside agencies, consultation and collaboration with parents, teachers, educators and community organizations.
